Joanne Glover, harpist
Joanne Glover has combined her love of performing and teaching into a
successful musical career. She is principal harpist with the Illinois
Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with numerous other Chicago
area ensembles including the Elgin Symphony Orchestra, New Philharmonic
and the William Ferris Chorale. In addition to providing music for
hundreds of weddings, Joanne’s client list includes churches,
politicians, hotels and private clubs. As an experienced musician, she
is comfortable with music in a broad range of styles including
classical, Celtic, religious, jazz and popular.
Joanne maintains an active private studio, teaching students ages four
through adult. She is a specialist in the Suzuki method for the harp
and is certified and experienced at all Suzuki levels. Several of her
former students are award winners, active performers and teachers.
Following her graduation from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in
Music Education, Joanne was an orchestra teacher in a public school
music program in Kankakee, IL for six years. She then attended
Northwestern University, earning a Masters Degree in Harp Performance,
and has continued to develop a performing and teaching base in the
Chicago area.
